The Poggio del Sole Resort is the fruit of careful restoration work on the original residence of the 1800’s and it’s characteristic rural annexes: the elegant master house, the food provisions store, the barn, the stables and the guest quarters. With the opening of new rooms and services the structure changed from an antique residence to a comfortable resort, a great union between ancient and modern, between different architectural harmonies perfectly integrated, everything conceived to make your stay an unique experience.
The old fashioned building hosts three suites, the refined “Dell’Angelo” [Of the Angel] restaurant, the “Degli Archi” [Of the Arches] conference room and a Lounge Bar.
Newly constructed is the more informal “Hosteria” [carvery-room] with its stone oven and rooms.
To complete the structure there are an open-air swimming-pool with Jacuzzi corner and the garage. On the road from Ragusa leading to the sea, Poggio del Sole Resort [Sun’s Hill Resort] dominates the charming Hyblean plateau amid a mix of rugged valleys and hills, carob and olive trees, and a thick lattice of dry stone walls.
At the midpoint of the major centres in the Noto valley, the structure was built before the Baroque period, long enough ago at a time when people live their lives amidst the true nature of a historic land.
